FAQ

Questions you might have regarding our private cruises and dinner cruises:

Where does the dinner cruise start?

Our standard departure point is located at the dock in front of the H’ART Museum, at Amstel 51 in Amsterdam. This is a spacious wooden dock used by several boat companies, and we do not have a fixed office on-site.

When you arrive, we kindly ask you to look out for one of our boats — Delphine, Leaudine, or Avanti. Each of our vessels is easy to recognize by its distinctive character: elegant, classic salon boats with an authentic antique look and feel.

If you’re unsure, feel free to ask one of the skippers nearby — they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

How many guests can join?

We specialize in private canal cruises for small groups, creating a relaxed and exclusive atmosphere on board. Our classic salon boats accommodate up to 12 guests, ensuring an intimate and comfortable setting.

The Avanti offers a bit more flexibility and can host larger groups, making it a great option if you’re planning a slightly bigger gathering while still enjoying a private boat experience in Amsterdam.

Is the boat heated?

Absolutely. Our classic salon boats are fully heated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere on board in every season. Whether you join us for a cozy winter canal cruise or a private dinner cruise on the water, you’ll stay comfortable throughout the experience.

During the Amsterdam Light Festival, this makes all the difference. While the city glows with light artworks along the canals, you can relax inside a heated, elegant boat and enjoy the views in comfort — without worrying about the cold.

Is there a toilet on board?

Most of our classic salon boats are equipped with a toilet on board for your comfort during the cruise. Leaudine and Avanti both feature onboard restroom facilities, making them ideal for longer canal cruises or dinner experiences in Amsterdam.

Delphine, our most classic and historic salon boat, does not have a toilet on board. For shorter, relaxed cruises this is usually not an issue. If needed, our skipper knows the best places along the route to make a comfortable stop during your canal cruise in Amsterdam.

Can you arrange vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free dinner?

Of course. We work with high-quality catering partners and are happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requests. Just share your preferences ahead of your private dinner cruise in Amsterdam, and we’ll ensure a refined dining experience tailored to your needs.

Can you board near the hotel?

We always aim to make your experience as smooth and convenient as possible. In many cases, we can arrange a pick-up location close to your hotel in Amsterdam, allowing you to step on board with ease.

This depends on the route and any connecting tours before or after your cruise, but as long as your hotel is located within the canal area, we can usually find a suitable boarding spot nearby. If direct pick-up isn’t possible, we’ll suggest a comfortable location within walking distance.

In some cases, when a custom pick-up requires a significant detour or extra sailing time, a small call-out fee may apply. We will always communicate this clearly in advance, so there are no surprises.

What canals do you usually cruise?

Our routes take you through some of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam’s historic center, including the Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht.

During dinner cruises, we typically collect your dinner along the Prinsengracht and continue cruising within the canal belt, allowing you to enjoy both the views and your meal in a relaxed setting.

For private boat tours, the route is more flexible. We can explore areas such as the Jordaan or the old city center, including parts of the Red Light District, depending on your preferences. The exact route is always adapted to the moment — which is why it’s best to discuss your wishes with the skipper on board.

Is it private or shared?

We specialize in private canal cruises in Amsterdam. Each booking is exclusively for your group, ensuring a comfortable, quiet, and tailored experience on board without sharing the boat with others.

What happens in case of rain?

A little rain won’t affect your experience. Our classic salon boats offer a fully covered and sheltered interior, so you can enjoy your private canal cruise in Amsterdam in comfort, whatever the weather.

During the Amsterdam Light Festival, rain can even enhance the experience. The light artworks reflect beautifully on the water and along the canals, creating an even more atmospheric setting while you stay warm and dry on board.

How do I cancel my cruise?

If you need to cancel your canal cruise in Amsterdam, please contact us by email or phone as soon as possible.

We accept cancellations up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure. After this period, cancellations are no longer possible.

In case of severe weather, we closely follow guidance from Waternet, the local authority responsible for the canals. If they advise that it is unsafe to cruise, we will cancel your booking and inform you promptly.

Please note that weather conditions elsewhere in the country do not apply — as long as conditions in Amsterdam are suitable for cruising, the tour will continue as planned.
